The Ripon Museums
Guide: Richard Taylor, Chief Conservation Officer for Leeds
Time: 2pm (12 for lunch)
Meeting Place: The Workhouse Museum on Allhallowgate
We shall visit the Georgian Courthouse which closed in 1998, the Workhouse, built in 1854, preserved as a reminder of how it was for its inmates and the Police and Prison Museum, including the House of Correction. This fascinating collection of museums is within a few minutes walk of each other and is run by volunteers.
For those who would like lunch beforehand a room at the Golden Lion Pub next to the museum has been reserved for 12 noon
