Sledmere is a fine grade 1 listed Georgian House built originally by Richard Sykes a wealthy West Riding Wool merchant in 1750. This was extended and rebuilt in 1791 by Christopher Sykes as the family fortunes increased. After a serious fire in 1911 it was extensively restored so the House is both Georgian and Edwardian. Sir Tatton Sykes lives here today. The House has a collection of Chippendale and Sheraton Furniture , French paintings as well as wonderful grounds designed by Capability Brown. We will be able to enjoy a recital on the House Organ. Our guided tour will allow us plenty of time to explore the grounds and use the cafe. A beautiful House in the Yorkshire Wolds. A Grand Day Out.

I have booked a coach, however if you prefer to drive please indicate on the form, though your reduction reflects your contribution to the cost of the coach. Please feel free to book for friends to enjoy the day with you.
