The Thoresby Society

The Thoresby Society has a history of its own. Since its inception in 1889 there has been a busy programme of lectures during the winter, outings during the summer and an annual publication of volumes of articles about Leeds and the surrounding district.

This part of the website draws together the vibrant history of the society and explains the name.
