INDEX OF PEOPLE

[Though what follows is primarily a finding list of people mentioned in the text of the Review, entries have been extended in a number of cases to help in identification, to add information (for example, their appearance in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography) and to extend awareness of their connection with Ralph Thoresby (references to the Ducatus Leodiensis, 1715 edition). Not all those listed have been satisfactorily identified, nor all ODNB appearances traced. In the annotations which follow, 'ped.' refers to one of the numerous pedigrees contained in the Ducatus.
