A Sketchbook of Old Leeds

This series of pen drawings of old Leeds by David Thornton was drawn in 1977 at a time when local history was beginning to make a resurgence. A number of local history groups were formed across  the city and publishers began to realise that a niche market existed that had for many years been neglected. The sketches included here were based on old photographs of places that have either long been demolished or markedly changed.
